Forest Hill Church is committed to developing a missional campus in the Eastland community, launching around January 2021. This facility will be shared with our mission-minded community impact partner, Movement School, to ensure we leverage ourselves in reaching and engaging a broader and more diverse part of the city.
The Eastland community is diverse, multicultural, and multilingual. It has a rich and long history, both good and challenging, that make it difficult to understand and appreciate the community. It is the most ethnically and socio-economically diverse part of metro Charlotte. East Charlotte is showing signs of rapid gentrifying with a mixed demographic. Immigrant and refugee families aspiring to live out the "American Dream" have generally been displaced due to the lack of affordable housing.
Within a two-mile radius of our campus, there is a rich tapestry of socio-economic, ethnic, cultural and religious perspectives. The complex history of inequality and injustice and the recent history of immigration and relocation of refugees are important contextual considerations for our campus expansion. Great opportunities exist to create a place that would be an integration point for a congregation on mission, together.
We are currently meeting on the last Thursday of every month to join community leaders, neighbors, and friends to pray over the space and get to know what the neighborhood has to offer.
HOW TO ENGAGE NOW WITH OUR CAMPUS EXPANSION...We encourage you to come out and join us for one of our upcoming prayer gatherings.
Date: November 21 | December 19
