pre-marital counseling

Our heart and mission is to prepare couples for life together and equip them with a deeper understanding of themselves, the dynamics of relationship and skills to build a lifelong connection and commitment.

pre-marital counseling

Couples who are considering engagement, are engaged or preparing for marriage are invited into the crucial process of gaining understanding that leads to a healthy and thriving relationship. This process provides insights into the couple’s strengths and growth areas. Our counselors provide the support and guidance needed to move towards a stronger understanding and connection.

We as a counseling staff find premarital counseling an essential part of the preparation for marriage.  This process includes taking the Prepare & Enrich assessment and meeting with a clinicians for 8 sessions to review the results and discuss the major aspects of marriage including communication, conflict management, sex and intimacy, marital roles and other things.  Our hope is for every session to have a spiritual integrating where the couple is encouraged to see how their faith and Scripture informs how they interact with each topic.   The premarital counseling experience is intended to be a combination of psychoeducation and counseling and is not intended to fix all the issues that may arise during the process.  Should there be a deeper need for care, the couple would be referred for continued counseling after the premarital process is completed.
The only cost for premarital counseling is the $35 fee (per couple) for the online assessment. We are grateful to offer our in-house counseling services free of charge, through the generous support of the church, as a way to minister to our body. However, if you are able, we ask that you partner with us through providing donations for your services. Donations we receive meet a critical need of providing financial support for those who require referrals to other counselors in our community, when those services would otherwise be cost prohibitive.
