SOUTH PARK CAMPUS PASTOR
Hi Forest Hill family,
My name is Bryan Saylor, and I am so excited to begin serving as the Campus Pastor for our South Park Campus. For the past 12 years, my wife, Katie, and I have lived on the Space Coast of Florida, where I served as a Young Adult and Campus Pastor for a local church. We have two boys: Isaiah (4), and Malachi (2). We are so excited for all that God is doing here at Forest Hill. I am so excited to be part of the amazing team here, and to see the Kingdom of Heaven come to Charlotte, one person at a time.
Ephesians 3:20-21,
Bryan Saylor
Can You Share With Us Your Personal Journey and Relationship with God?
I grew up around church. My parents were missionaries and we traveled all over the world when I was a kid. I prayed to receive Christ and got baptized when I was 5 but got distracted during high school and college. I graduated college anxious, alone, and consumed by unhealthy habits and sins. One night in my apartment, I cried out to God. He met me and began to change my life.
After this experience, I began to ask God for positive influences in my life. A few months later, I joined a local church and began to find friends and mentors who walked with me. They taught me how to read my Bible and how to have a personal relationship with Jesus. They prayed with me when I struggled and showed me unconditional love in my lowest moments.
As I grew, I began to sense a call from God to use my story and my life to serve others and help them encounter Jesus the way that I had.
How Did You Feel The Call To Ministry?
A few days after I cried out to God for him to change my life, a friend of mine introduced me to several sermon podcasts from incredible Bible teachers. For the first time, I understood the gospel. I was excited about studying my Bible and understood the story. As I listened, I began to experience a desire to tell others about Jesus and teach the Bible to them.
A few months later, I got connected to a local church. I discovered the joy of serving. As I served, various pastors and church leaders began to mentor me and share that they believed I had a calling on my life to be a pastor.
Over the past ten years, I served at a local church on the Space Coast of Florida as a Young Adult Pastor and Campus Pastor.
What excites you the most about this new chapter of your ministry career:
I am so excited about all God is doing at Forest Hill. I believe in the vision God has given to our Leadership Team, and I love our staff team here at the South Park campus. They genuinely love and care for every person who comes to this church. I also sense a tremendous hunger for the things of God in our church, and I believe God is going to do a mighty work through our church in the city of Charlotte. I want to see the Kingdom of Heaven come to Charlotte, one person at a time.
