WHY NIGHT TO SHINE?

IMPACT

Night to Shine celebrates the uniqueness of each individual guest by providing an unforgettable night where they are welcomed, valued and loved!

“When I was at one of the proms last year, a beautifully dressed queen of the prom was hugging me when the girl’s mom leaned over and whispered with tears in her eyes, ‘My daughter will never get married and she will never have children, but tonight you made her feel like a princess!’” – Tim Tebow

SHARING GOD’S LOVE

Night to Shine shares the joy that is found in God’s love for each and every person.

“From the moments the guests of honor reached the front door to the smiles on their faces as they were greeted and walked down the red carpet, it was obvious that the joy of the Lord was in each of their hearts.”

– Peggy Hyland, Volunteer for Christ’s Church at Mason in Ohio

LOVE & SUPPORT

Following Night to Shine, we have been encouraged to see countless churches develop continued programs for people with special needs.

Through Night to Shine, we hope people with special needs realize that their church can be a place where they are loved and feel welcomed.

FAQ'S

What is Night to Shine?

Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs, ages 14 and older. Hundreds of churches around the world will host Night to Shine simultaneously on Friday, February 7th, 2025 and we are one!

The Tim Tebow Foundation has a great passion for people with special needs, and in 2014 launched “Night to Shine.” The vision was simple… work with churches around the country to provide an incredible prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs, ages 14 and older.

Forest Hill Church is excited to host Night to Shine once again at our South Park campus. Join us for a night that you will never forget! Walk the red carpet, enjoy the royal treatment, and dance the night away!

Is there a dress code?

We ask all volunteers to adhere to a modest, semi-formal or formal dress code. Please wear attire that is respectful of the event, such as dress pants, skirts, or dresses, with no holes or tears in pants. Comfortable, semi-formal shoes are recommended. Additionally, avoid clothing with offensive language, political statements, or inappropriate graphics, as we aim to maintain a respectful, Christ centered and welcoming atmosphere for all attendees.

For the Guests, we encourage ladies to wear a gown and men to wear a suit or tux. However, this is your night, so dress as you would like as long as it is appropriate attire!

Can you tell me more about volunteering as a Buddy?

As a Buddy, you’ll play a crucial and rewarding role in ensuring a memorable evening for our guests! Your primary responsibility is to offer companionship and support to your assigned Guest throughout the event. This includes dining with them and engaging in conversation and activities. While you’ll be their main source of support and friendship, please note that Buddies are not required to assist with medical or bathroom needs.

Where do parents/caretakers go?

The on-site Respite Room offers parents and adult caretakers an adult-only relaxing and fun environment while remaining close to their loved one. Parents and caretakers can expect comfortable seating, appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages.
